Sum Of Us (SOU), is a 4-day, 3-night camping festival encompassing wellness workshops, special events, and live performances.
For SOU 2023, I procured and led a team of 10 creators to conceptualize, design, and fabricate Playground, a multi-sensory series of installations throughout the festival grounds.
Given this was the second year of our partnership, my goal was to increase the scale of our production while infusing healing, vibrancy, and joy into its impact.
Based on color therapy, Playground encouraged curiosity, natural moments of play, and connection among attendees and the surrounding environment. We converted a tennis court and abandoned phone booths on site into spaces for self exploration, rest, and creative expression.
Throughout the 4-day, 3-night event, 1000+ attendees visited the Playground. They engaged with our activities, including making beaded jewelry, sketches, and affirmation postcards.
Playground also hosted 4 community-specific meetups, including NA, Black Queers, Creatives of Color, and a Plutonic Cuddle Puddle which garnered a total of 150+ attendees. The client shared, "What you created this year was beyond my expectations — professional, well-designed, and seamlessly executed!"
