BLKHLTH engages the public and health professionals on the impacts of racism on Black health through content, workshops, and events.

For Essence Fest 2023, I conceptualized, designed and fabricated their brand activation as a space for education, engagement, and action.

The design process began with a 3D model of a 20x10' booth I created in Sketchup. Subsequently, I enlisted vendors from Nola, tasked with furnishing assorted elements for our activation including lush greenery, VR headsets and iPad stands for remote registration.

In addition to vendor coordination, I directed a graphic designer to produce and print distinctive signage that impeccably re-envisioned BLKHLTH's brand identity.

Throughout the day-long event, 80+ attendees visited the BLKHLTH brand activation, eighteen of which requested that 48 colorectal cancer kits be delivered to their homes. 

The client shared, "I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with Jena on our Essence Fest activation. She perfectly understood our brand and target audience and her creative ideas resonated with the crowd. The interactive elements she incorporated into the booth brought immense energy and excitement to our brand, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees."
